Sweater Weather Jr.

I am disappointed to learn that there is a newish indie rock band calling themselves "Sweater Weather." You can hear a very nice song that these very nice boys (and girl) wrote on pitchfork.com. It's actually a very pretty song with guitar, piano, and a bunch of strings and other assorted orchestral embellishments. They've built in a nice couple of crescendos, some partial resolutions along the way, and plenty of arty twiddling and introspective lyrics. They are from Chapel Hill, after all.

My band "Sweater Weather" has been defunct for over a decade, so I can hardly claim that the name is taken. These guys probably have no idea that such a band existed, but I'm glad at least to know that the music they’re making under that moniker is high quality stuff. I knew we should have gone by the Plan B name: Slick Slacks. No one is ever going to take that one.
