This is Ms. Gonzales, who, as you might guess, is a weaver. This picture was taken by Corinne in the village of Teotitlan while I was sick in bed, so I don’t know too much about it. They bought a small weaving from her, which had taken her about a week to make. It was very nice. If I told you the price and you did the math, your jaw would drop at the price per hour of labor. You can make much more per hour bent over double picking strawberries in the hot summer sun, and that doesn’t require nearly as much skill.
