Obecni Dum. This Art Nouveau building was built between 1906 and 1912. It’s a shame the amateur photographer couldn’t capture the wings of the building. The façade, by the way, is a tile mosaic. This was the site of the proclamation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic on October 28, 1918. The building is said to be the architectural pinacle of the Czech National Revival, with Art Nouveau interior details second to none, as well as astonishing salons on the upper floors. Eye-witness confirmation will have to await our next visit.
