Trying to Figure Out Where NM Route 63 Went.
I feel like I have to tell you that the truck is parked on the highway.
Corinne and I climbed the nearest hill to see if we could see where the highway went. It just sort of disappeared. We could
see some tire ruts on the other side of the canyon, but we unable to figure out how to get from point A to point B without flying.
We eventually turned around and retraced our steps, which took a couple of hours.
Update: We did some research after we got home, by comparing the Google maps version of the area to the Rand McNally
version of the area. You'll notice that Google agrees with us;
they don't really consider Highway 63 worthy of putting on
the map. If you zoom way in (at Google Maps proper), you'll see that one of the many possible routes through the gray spiderwebbing
where 63 should be is actually labelled '63'. However, on the ground that gray spiderwebbing looks like this, which is where I think we actually made the wrong turn.
