Paul and Corinne's Southwest Adventure

Grand Canyon

  May 2007

Water Break. It was very hot in the sun as we hiked down into the Grandy Canyon. (That's our friend, who I'll
call "Xtina," who lives in Flagstaff. We stopped by and picked her up for our Grand Canyon adventure.) Hiking
into a canyon is tricky because it's in the opposite direction of a mountain hike. It's downhill at the beginning.
Then, once you're good and tired, you turn around and hike uphill at the end. We'd dropped about 2000 feet
during our three mile hike, and had to climb 2000 feet to get out. Whew.
